Choose the Right Bathroom Faucet for Your Sink
If you are replacing or upgrading your bathroom hardware, make sure the new
bathroom faucet you choose will fit your sink cabinet. Standard size sink and faucet dimensions used throughout the plumbing industry include: single-hole faucet, 4" center-set faucet or 8" wide center-spread faucet. Look carefully at your bathroom sink cabinet
before buying new hardware to determine the correct fitting and what style of bathroom sink faucet you will need.
Single-Hole Faucet
A single-hole faucet integrates the faucet spout and faucet control handle or handles into one compact, easy-to-use fitting. This style of faucet fits a sink with a single faucet hole. These faucets are sometimes also called single-handle faucets.
4" Center-Set Faucet
On a 4" center-set faucet, the faucet spout and two separate hot and cold water control handles are attached to a faucet base. This style of faucet fits a sink with three holes, the outer holes measure 4" apart.
Widespread Faucet
A
widespread faucet features three separate pieces a spout and two separate temperature control handles. This style of faucet fits a sink with three holes, the outer holes measuring 8" apart.
It is possible to purchase conversion kits that will allow you to mount a new and different type of faucet on your existing bathroom sink, but this requires a much more complicated installation and we recommend consulting with your local hardware store first.
